The new eating place volition open in the space at 22. S. Palafox St. that currently houses Beef 'O' Brady's. Tracy Goodson, Beef 'O' Brady's property possessor and franchisee, confirmed earlier this week that the eating house will close this weekend.

"We've been in the concern for 10 years and our x-year franchise came up, so we could accept either renewed the franchise or we could rent the building out, 'cause we own the building," Goodson said of the determination to shut the Palafox location. "It'due south been a very successful shop, we just don't desire to renew for some other 10 years.

"Cinco de Mayo is our biggest day of the year only we don't desire to open up a new location and non have it go well," Rhoades said. "Any time that y'all open up a restaurant, out of the 14 that I've opened in my career, not one of them's been on fourth dimension because of construction or permits. And so, we're shooting for May 6 merely probably wouldn't want to hope that to the public and and then non live up to it."

"We're going to have out the air hockey and the pool table then it'southward not then much of a bar feeling," Rhoades said. "We really want to be seen as a family restaurant with just a few games for kids."
Most, if not all of the Palafox Beef 'O' Brady's employees will be reassigned to work at the eating house's other ii locations on Nine Mile Route and Gulf Cakewalk Parkway, said Rhoades. He added that anyone not retained by Beef 'O' Brady's will exist hired to work at the downtown Cactus Cantina.

The 12th Avenue Cactus Cantina opened in 2014. Rhoades said he'due south excited to see Cactus Cantina serve a new demographic for many years to come.
"Downtown is a keen opportunity," he said. "In that location's the Gallery Nights that are really stiff. Having that parking garage behind the states I recollect is going to assistance us be easily accessible to people driving in. There'southward Southtowne just a couple blocks away. So downtown has come and then far the by ten-15 years and we're excited about serving Pensacola in that area."
